@kevinwhoffman We do something similar at @jetpack. We keep the most recent primary release and any point release in readme.txt (e.g. 7.3 and 7.3.1 both would be in the readme) with everything older in a separate changelog. Copy/paste it over when preparing the next primary.

@kevinwhoffman @jetpack We were told including our entire log in readme would cause issues because of size, so that’s our solution to balance informing and maintaining history. Really though, the changelog is another touch point with the end user to “sell” your work to them. Shame to not use it.
