Props to @AustinISD. We’ve opted to have our four elementary kids virtual this semester. Not only do they offer the option, but they were able to keep them in the Spanish dual-language program—we assumed we’d have to lose that for the semester.

It also makes me grateful for the larger AISD community. We love @BlantonElem, our home campus, but being part of the district is allowing us to go virtual with three teachers, only teaching virtually, from three other campuses.
It takes a village and, sometimes, a whole city.
@BlantonElem And before I hear any grief, yes, I’d rather have my kids in school. I do appreciate AISD’s mask mandate and that put us on the border to sending them in person. I don’t trust @GovAbbott with school safety and don’t see him backing down from trying to overturn it.
