@AardvarkSagus From experience with WP.com, it isn’t that simple. Sure, you can ignore court orders from some jurisdictions. Twitter, at least, has a corporate entity in the EU, so that’s EU and US laws at least.
@AardvarkSagus Then you have countries like Turkey or Russia that love to send government requests to content removal that if you ignore, they’ll just block access to your site—country-wide—for a bit since you’re violating their laws.
