@angiemeeker @BFTrick @JiveDig @carlhancock @Pento TBH, either way, a fair number of people will hate on it. Either it is Jetpack doing something bad or Jetpack stuffing something into Core because. Jetpack’s pattern has been to run through some iterations and then happily let Core take whatever.

@angiemeeker @BFTrick @JiveDig @carlhancock @Pento Site icons being a recent-ish example. I’ve tried to get UI on the post category list table to indicate the default category for years and never got anywhere. Sometimes starting an idea in Core doesn’t happen.
@angiemeeker @BFTrick @JiveDig @carlhancock @Pento Part of this is us just trying something and seeing if it works. Maybe this results in zero change. It may not be worth putting anything into Core. Or, maybe this is something that would help a lot of people and a more robust solution really is needed.
