@JoelGratcyk This is particular rules it is constitutional to fine electoral college mbrs who do not back their pledged candidate (e.g. a R elector who didn’t vote for Trump in the College).

It’s not directly related to having the college overall backs the national pop vote winner.

    @JoelGratcyk It was already constitutional to require an elector to vote for their pledged candidate, else be replaced, etc. This confirms states can actually fine faithless electors.

    It could be used to force electors to follow an interstate compact if it happens en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_…
