@KXAN_News I wish the reporting including even a mention of the state law that I assume the district is trying to follow—holy day *and travel required to celebrate it* are counted as a special absence type. School funding is not impacted and kids get required make up time.

    @KXAN_News Whether or not the form explains itself well or whatever, sure, but there is a basis from state law on it.

    @KXAN_News I missed class due to a Christian religious observance around 2000 in Wichita Falls, TX and was asked to note similar information when reporting it.
