@cathdad4 @jdflynn @CathoCop I have a close friend who is a detective here. It’s an equal promotion with corporal, e.g. you pass the promotion boards, you have to get “picked up” by a unit. If it is investigative, you’re a det. If it’s patrol, you’re a corporal.

@cathdad4 @jdflynn @CathoCop He went into child abuse/child sex crimes unit as a detective. Sexual crimes was his second choice, but he felt too many got away since it was harder to prove.
Child sex crimes, by the fact it happened makes it a lot easier to prove and he liked being able to put those guys away
