@jeffr0 Looking at the new default, there will still be a place for starter themes ( github.com/wordpress/twen…). Still a lot of code that could be boiler plate, even if it is HTML, JSON, and CSS more than PHP.
@jeffr0 I think a major difference is Genesis and, say Beaver focused on slightly different markets in terms of who would be delivering the product to the end user (or the end user themself were doing it).

@jeffr0 FSE, I think, opens the door for Genesis (or something like @frostwp) to set a new standard for what the next chapter could be for frameworks. I think it depends on who creates the market like Thesis/Genesis did back in the day.
