@USArmy Dad was USAF in Vietnam. Injured when diving out of the way of drunk GIs driving around. Considered not service related. Lifelong pain + untreated PTSD. He drunk himself to death, dying when I was 12. I wanted to serve but mom wanted me to not follow that path.
