Tonight with their daily 6 pm update, Austin/Travis County reports 98 COVID-19 inpatients at local hospitals—the highest number since I started tracking the data on April 9th. Previous high was 94 on May 6th. Previous to that was 93 on April 13.

On the plus side, today marked the first decrease in my “active cases” metric since the start of May (taking the reported total cases number and subtract their reported deaths and reported recoveries). A combo of a low increase in cases and a high increase in recoveries.

I don’t have in front of me the numbers of the overall capacity of those hospitals in the area nor am I aware of a daily stat showing how many beds are taken, as plenty are taken from normal things. Just sharing the numbers relative to themselves.
