@FrHilderbrand Ugh. Bad typo. Reposting: I thought Caerimoniale Episcoporum said that priests can serve in diaconal liturgical roles, but can’t vest as a deacon.

Since CE is cited elsewhere when describing OF norms, I would presume to follow it even if a bishop isn’t present.
