@TheFuzzyLobster I’ve followed some. A common thread I’ve seen has been the Church often working with govt for aims that should never have been part of the church’s wheelhouse (native re-education) or maybe laudable things (housing crisis pregnancy women/babies) but done very very poorly.

@TheFuzzyLobster Lack of training, overstressed systems, combined with just evil, resulting in covered up abuse, neglect, etc.
@TheFuzzyLobster Sadly, the world is pretty rotten to “Others”—the poor, native folks, immigrants, etc. While a religious group should rise above that, far far far too often it is as guilty as the surrounding dominant culture and often more guilty as folks expect them to be better.
