@DesireeSeattle @UpperLowerClass @FrHilderbrand I give the benefit of the doubt. I don’t know any of her details. Someone brand new to the Church, feels called, approaches a priest, he accepts her with open arms. If that makes them feel like proclaiming they’re Catholic, great.

    @DesireeSeattle @UpperLowerClass @FrHilderbrand Of course, they have not been received into the Church/sacraments of initiation yet. They aren’t technically members yet.

    I’m okay if that’s something the person learns as part of the process. Not the first thing they’re slapped back about.
