@dabernathy89 It’s risk mitigation. (K)N95s are better, yes. I send my daughter to school wearing one and I have some kid-sized ones to ensure I have them when the elementary ones go back.

True N95s should still be reserved for medical staff (cont…)

@dabernathy89 Though KN95s, etc are relatively easy to find. I have had a much much harder time finding them in sizes that fit kids better. But yeah, that would be an ideal. (cont…)

@dabernathy89 Masking can work both ways—protect the wearer and protect those around the wearer. Cloth does the latter primarily by stopping droplets from being expelled, but that’s why a mandate is key…as many people as possible need to wear them when cloth is the likely accessible one.

@dabernathy89 I’m also not sure the feasibility of daily KN95s for all kids. We can afford the $1.30/mask/kid (how much they were last I bought them) compared to the $0.30 for a surgi-mask or $5-10/one-time of a cloth one.

I don’t know if that’s financially feasible for all schools.

@dabernathy89 I would categorize this as don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
