In a first, my wife was driving down the road and the side mirror hit a broken tree limb that jetted just a tad into the roadway.
It knocked out the mirror glass, but the rest of the mirror housing is perfectly fine.
Looks to be an easy fix once I have the part.

However, going into an auto part store is the shopping experience I hate the most.
Usually not maintained well, disorganized, bad customer service, and any question is answered with “you just gotta do the thing and it’ll work” or “I dunno, not my problem”.
I went into an @autozone a week ago or so to buy a specific thing. I had checked on the website and that specific store had it in stock.
Go in, don’t see it, ask the guy. “Don’t have it” “Any place else it could be? The site says it is in stock” “I’m looking at the shelf, we don’t have it.” “Damn, that’s frustrating the website has the wrong stock for y’all.”
The guy said “what do you expect me to do about it?”
