@demosticles @FrEdwardLooney As vocation directors… Pressure to get new men in the door. While helping men discern is good and even if they discern no is a net win, it’s still demoralizing when your community is looking to you for the future.

    @demosticles @FrEdwardLooney I did sales before tech and talking with them, it is the best analogy for my head. Similar that you join seminary because of wanting to serve, then realize that you’re effective the manager of a decent sized non-profit. It’s hard. I think we ask too much of priests in that regard

    @demosticles @FrEdwardLooney Sure, some can do it, but plenty can’t do it well so they’re just in a tough spot. Leads to unfulfilled and burnt out.
