Social Notes

Short posts that are often pushed to social media (a.k.a. tweets).

  • I’ve been overall pretty quiet with the #WordPress current events. I realize that because I know a decent amount doesn’t mean I know everything and don’t want to stick a foot in my mouth thinking I’m being clever or anything. But, I do want to say that I love working at Automattic. Is it perfect?…

  • I’m working on a post of “week in the life” of me. If nothing else, I want to be reminded of this in years to come what it was like. There are seasons to life and it’s easy to pass between them without taking a pause to appreciate.

  • I feel like I should have some Big Thoughts™ as I turn 40. Writer’s block instead.

  • Dove into some of the deep internals of WordPress today and came out of it with plans for both improvements to my code and to Core WordPress.

  • I wonder what it would take to have Mastodon use Akismet for spam filtering. Tons of obvious spam hitting my server today.

  • Hurricane Milton is only 10 MPH below the most intense Atlantic hurricane in history, based on one-minute sustained wind speed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_most_intense_tropical_cyclones#North_Atlantic_Ocean It’s at 180 MPH now, Allen was 190 MPH. The worldwide record is 215 MPH (Patricia in the Eastern Pacific in 2017). Be safe, Florida friends.
