  • Apparently, there was an earthquake in West Texas yesterday evening that some in Austin reported feeling. It would have been in the midst of getting the kids to bed so I doubt I would have felt it even if my home was the epicenter.

  • While my primary bank has been a local credit union for awhile, I’ve kept my account at Wells Fargo for various things. But, they changed the way they determine waiving monthly service fees so am now being hit by $25/month fee. I’ve had a deposit account at Wells Fargo since 1993—originally at a local bank…

  • My five-year-old: “[Her sister] just gave me a look like I was about to go to the bathroom, be in there a long time, use a lot of toilet paper, and leave without flushing.” I feel like I’m missing context here.

  • Political grievances should not have violent means of resolution. I’m glad today’s incident ended without any injuries or loss of life.

  • Heh—I just received contact form spam that included an unsubscribe URL at the end of the message.

  • I didn’t understand older people’s constant recall of the JFK assassination as a defining moment until looking back at what Columbine and 9/11 mean to me. Both of those events ushered in a new era in our communal psyche. The impact is still felt through school safety protocols, airline travel, the Patriot Act, and more.…
