A couple of months ago, I accepted my first formal job offer. For my position now, it was a verbal offer and agreement. No benefits, just a simple “I’ll pay you this” “Sounds good” “Start working”. My previous jobs, all part-time, had been in the same boat.
While working here at the UCC in an assistant’s capacity, I’ve been quasi-promoted, negotiated a raise and able to more exactly define the parameters of my job.
This time, the offer is on paper. Benefits are outlined.
