What Am I Doing Now?

Professionally

Without getting too deep into the details, professionally, I work on Jetpack.

I’m a Director of Project Engineering for Jetpack, meaning I direct a group of engineering teams. The teams within my group own the main Jetpack plugin, developer experience, developer infrastructure (e.g. our GitHub actions, CLI), release process, foundational technology, data analytics, and data/AI/machine learning fun.

Church

I’m an oblate of St. Meinrad’s Archabbey after making my final oblation on June 4, 2022.

At our parish, I am the Master of Ceremonies for the 7:30 a.m. Mass, coordinating the altar servers and assisting the elderly priests who often celebrate at that time. Vanessa and I are part of the group that coordinates the monthly coffee/donuts “Second Sunday Social” ministry. Lastly, we are teaching a weekly class for parents of kids in sacramental preparation and agreed to continue next year.

I’m the webmaster for the South Austin Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly.

Civic Duty

I am on the board for Delwood Sports, the local youth sports program. Without kids playing, I’m not planning on returning to coaching yet, so I’m focusing on continuing my registration, geeky stuff, financial management, and board position on our associated 501(c)3, Friends of Delwood Sports.

I am the 2022-2024 Chair of the Travis County Solidarity Party. This is a political “third party” that is based on the Christian Demographic principles. For the non-Americans, it’s one of the minor parties that aren’t Republican or Democrat and, sadly, of little influence for now. While there is a lot of diversity within the party in terms of political beliefs, I belong to the Liberation Caucus voting block that focuses on economic liberation, racial justice, ecological sustainability, deliberative democracy, and “whole life.”

Education

I will graduate next month with an MBA from the Dillard College of Business Administration at Midwestern State University. I’m a member of the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity, the College of Business Administration’s Student Advisory Committee, the Financial Management Association National Honor Roll, and the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society.

I was named the Graduate Man of the Year for the University.
