@FrHilderbrand I appreciated that our bishop propagated “supplemental norms” on this. Parishioners have a right to marry in their parish (and confirming that means anyone registered or living in the boundaries) and can’t be charged an unreasonable fee.

    @FrHilderbrand Looking it up, $650 max fee, which would not need to include musicians, hall rental, etc. Just for the church. And can’t take money for the sacrament, so must be willing to figure out how to serve those that can’t cover that (be it fee breaks, wedding during a regular liturgy…)

    @FrHilderbrand Non-parishioners… No max fee set. Right to marry in your parish with a reasonable rate for church use. If you’re church shopping (for good or bad reasons), you have an option (geographical parish at least) if money is a deal breaker.
