I sent this to KXAN (NBC Austin), who is owned by Nexstar which led the charge against Kimmel. FTR, I’m not even a fan of Kimmel. Just not a fan of government overreach and censorship. Reminder that Nexstar has a merger in the works that still needs federal approval.

I am curious about KXAN’s independence? With Nexstar leading the charge to support government-influenced censorship on their ABC affiliate stations, if KXAN’s corporate owners decide to take a similar stance on Fallon or Seth Meyers or SNL, would KXAN have the ability to decide locally to air that programming or would those decisions end with Nexstar corporate?
