@schristakos @MayorAdler @GovAbbott @GregAbbott_TX Mortality isn’t the only issue. Long COVID, continued spread, etc are also concerns. Masking has never been about the highest-risk individuals wearing them—they’re most effective when both the transmitter and the potential recipient are masked.

    @schristakos @MayorAdler @GovAbbott @GregAbbott_TX When no one under 12 can be vaccinated, by definition, it means there is still a very sizable part of our community without any vaccine. “Most people have vaccines” simply isn’t true when you look at schools.

    @schristakos @MayorAdler @GovAbbott @GregAbbott_TX Only ~43% of Texans are fully vaccinated and 0% of K-5th graders. That’s compared to 94.98% of Kindergarten kids being vaccinated for chicken pox (DSHS 20-21 report).
