@MShilling @SunshineMustang @KXAN_News Not according to state law. Texas Education Code 25.087 makes an absence due to religious observance, *including travel for it* a special category. If you live a day’s drive from whatever, state education code accounts for that.

    @MShilling @SunshineMustang @KXAN_News My religion doesn’t ask that I travel anywhere, but if it said that once a year for XYZ, I needed to go to a temple or something and that temple is a day’s drive away, the state rolls with that.
