Travis County (TCAD) release new property appraisal info today for the property tax due at the end of the year.
This is bananas. The land our house sits on is worth double what it was last year. The house itself up 38%.
Like holy hell.

They said Western Travis County was impacted more. My in-laws property more than doubled. The land itself increased in value 5x over last year.
I can expect to have a 10% in property taxes every year for something like the next five years assuming the same value.
If my goal was to sell the house, this would be great. I’m not planning on moving until we downsize after the kids leave. But whoa. What‽
