What gets me is sure, Starbucks may have better benefits than other retail jobs, but that doesn’t mean things are perfect. Workers don’t organize just to have it better than others but to equalize the power differential. Sometimes that means more benefits sometimes not. twitter.com/LadyGaGarza/st…

    The complaints I’ve heard—on Twitter and talking with @Starbucks partners in person—isn’t generally with benefits per se. It’s things like the 30-hr/wk employee randomly being scheduled for 10 hours. Benefits are one thing, but an effective 67% pay cut? It’s power equalisation.
