@daljo628 @ChrisWiegman @Clappo7 Part of the aging codebase isn’t because of lack of developers but lack of will. Scott yolo committed an autoloader but backed out due to ::waves hands::.

Gutenberg has succeeded due to strong technical leadership (Matias). IMO, we need similar for the rest of WP.

    @daljo628 @ChrisWiegman @Clappo7 e.g. roadmap a real PHP 7+ plan, determine future codebase plans, help just set direction.

    I think there would be people to do the work, but it’s disheartening to feel solo and swimming upstream on almost everything.
