A bug fix release for Press This went out and I forgot to post about it…

The biggest fix: saving posts that contained external images was throwing a critical error through the REST API. That’s gone now. Also fixed is an annoying one where scraped media was getting inserted at the bottom of the post instead of where your cursor was.

Beyond the bug fixes, there are some nice quality-of-life improvements:

  • Rich text keyboard shortcuts now work (bold, italic, etc.)
  • Block transform and undo/redo keyboard shortcuts are registered
  • The category search filter is back, rebuilt with Gutenberg components
  • HTML formatting is now preserved when you select text before pressing the bookmarklet
  • The link button was missing from the toolbar — fixed by externalizing format-library

Plus some housekeeping: dependency updates, a .nvmrc pinning Node 20, and expanded test coverage across PHP, JS, and E2E.

Grab it from WordPress.org or install it directly from your WordPress dashboard.
