This reminds me of the second @Austin_Police on-duty death.

Officer John Gaines, the only Black officer in 1913, was killed by a white man.

Black officers couldn’t arrest white people then. Ofc. Gaines was killed while on the phone asking for a white officer to respond. twitter.com/NPR/status/140…
