  • @The_GreatVoid @frpatrickop @BackwardsFeet Registration, in practice, is operative, at least in the dioceses I’ve been in. In a major urban area, there’s a fair chance virtually no one is attending/active in their territorial parish. Until 2009, the parish boundaries weren’t even published.

  • @The_GreatVoid @frpatrickop @BackwardsFeet It depends on place. Some are actual parishes (either territorial or personal), some are simply ministries that have no parish-like canonical structure, some are basically quasi-parishes that are treated like a parish in many, many ways.

  • @frpatrickop @BackwardsFeet Indeed. A permanent community can be a major, major asset, but it must be clear that the center exists for the academic community.

  • @BackwardsFeet There can be a balance where the clergy is clear the mission is to serve the student community and the resident community’s purpose is to support that. I can’t speak for OSU, though. No experience there.
