@nubianbrotha @tplohetski When there are multiple buildings on campus having all the doors locked is annoying for all kinds of reasons. A kid left their hoodie outside… Prop the door, run out to get it, close it when you come in, etc.

My kiddo, MC, did a great job this semester. She started out rocky, not really trying, pulling eh grades. A teacher called her out on it, it kicked her into gear. She busted her butt. She was on track to be a B/C student. Ended up on the A Honor Roll. Thanks @BlantonElem.

Hearing a lot of sirens by us. Looked up active incidents—”Oh, just an electrical fire at the other elementary school. Good” What a thought to have. (I presume probably an HVAC unit went out and threw a little smoke. That’s most realistic, hopefully that’s all)

The @AustinISD’s e-mail following this reminded parents that they have spent/are spending $2M for bulletproof glass at entryways. Sandy Hook had locked doors, but he gained access by shooting out the glass by the door. twitter.com/evolutionaryps…
