Social Notes

Short posts that are often pushed to social media (a.k.a. tweets).

  • @FrRyanRojo Say howdy to Bishop Mike for me! I worked at the Catholic Center at UT-Austin when he was the vocations director for the Diocese of Austin. It was nice having his office only a couple blocks away.

  • @demosticles @FrEdwardLooney As vocation directors… Pressure to get new men in the door. While helping men discern is good and even if they discern no is a net win, it’s still demoralizing when your community is looking to you for the future.

  • @FrEdwardLooney @demosticles Of the men I know, 3 and 4 a lot. Interestingly, two priests who left were both vocation directors when they left. Lack of parish community and pressure of “sales” were a blow.

  • @ChrisWiegman @thedutchsimmons @WordPress @GoDaddy @bph What’s the URL? If the site is on WordPress.com @wordpressdotcom is the right folks. With the address, if it is on WP.com, I can ask the team to look if they haven’t seen this tweet yet.

  • @JiveDig Worst case, go with magicjack and if later figuring out Google voice or something different makes sense, numbers are usually portable.

  • @JiveDig Yeah, there’s still something that links the Internet to the traditional home wiring. I did have a VoIP phone when I was in sales that the phone directly connected to the internet, but I haven’t seen a home-style phone that did that.
