NBC’s Surprise

“The news tonight had a story about the Catholic Church.” Right or wrong, for better or worse, that statement is followed by “How badly did they butcher it?”. Yes, there have been serious news stories regarding crimes related to the Church (be it sexual abuse/misconduct, embezzlement, etc), but those aren’t the ones that come to mind. Doesn’t it seem that anything the Pope says that gets picked up by the wires is horribly misunderstood and misreported? Many Christian ideas are counter-cultural so bad reporting only makes the matter worse.

    Thanks, Brandon.  I missed NBC’s coverage since I rarely watch network news, so this was a nice surprise that I’m sharing on Emmaus’ FB page.  It’s great to have some good press for a change.
